A group of 17 members were guided around a very interesting exhibition encompassing more than the French resistance locally, by setting the challenges in the Vendee in the context of life in France during 1939 – 1945.
Madame Bréchoteau the museum guide, was so well informed and involved in the narrative it added greater understanding and appreciation of what was a very difficult time for the French people.
There is so much to see in the exhibition that it is worth a second visit.
Lunch at le Genista was tasty and there was much animated discussion.
