This year’s Car Treasure Hunt was a well run, friendly event with a lovely vibe.
The coded route instructions covered 32kms of undulating countryside, and the need to solve the 25 questions asked ensured that each car drove carefully, hunting for the answers. Some answers could be found only in the rear view mirror, or were above or below the sightline. Driving too fast, or talking too much resulted in having to double back and cover old ground.
After returning to the Nantée the answer sheets were handed in and two bean bag toss games were completed by each team – the additional points changing the original order of winners.
Our numbers increased to 21 when another AFB member joined us for the three course lunch, with aperitif naturally. Conversation was animated, jovial and fun.
Eventually the results were announced. The winning team by just 3 points was “Les Trois Mousquetaires et D’Artagnan”, closely followed by “Me & Him”, “Les Intrépides”, and “N et A”, with “Destiny” bringing up the rear.
Think about participating next year. The aim is to take part and enjoy. Winning is not really important, the social exchange is. It is a fun, original day out and excellent value.
